I was in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1969. I went to Instructor School and Air Traffic Controlman School. I learned to fly fixed wing aircraft and received 4 FAA Airman Certificates including A/C mechanic and FCC license.
In 1973 I got a California Teaching Credential.
I worked with airlines from 1974, retiring in 2005. I ended my career flying on the DC-10, as Captain International with American Airlines.
Through our Union I worked for 11 years as Aviation Safety and Accident investigation, 4 years as Chief Accident Investigator and also served on the American Airlines National Safety Committee from 1986 to 1987.
I have a son, Ryan, a college student and Eagle Scout. I still hang in with son Ryan's mom, Linda S. Shelton, Esq. Linda graduated from Blackford in 1965 and has a BA from San Jose State, then law school. She is still an Attorney, as of yesterday.
